Version 1
            Bob Dylan – Bob Dylan's Dream (The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan)

Capo III

I'm pretty sure these are the correct lyrics. I also tried to illustrate the elongated syllables and pauses.
Because of this weird meter, I think it is actually rather hard to sing correctly.

The A in the second line does'nt feel necessary to me, so check for yourselves if you need it or not.
Since this is my first tab, please comment heavily.

      E           F#m
While riding on a train going west,
        ( A )         B
I fell asleep for to take my rest,
  E                          A       E
Iiiiii dreamed a dream that made me sad,
              B                A                   E
Concerning myself ... and the first few friends I had.

      E                 F#m
With half damp eyes I stared to the room,
                   ( A )      B
Where my friends and I spent many'n afternoon,
    E                             A     E
Wheeeeeere we together weathered many a storm,
              B                     A                E
Laughing and singing ... 'till the early hours of the morn.

       E                          F#m
By the old wooden stove where our hats was hung,
              ( A )      B
Our words was told, our songs was sung;
   E                              A       E
Weeeeee longed for nothing and were satisfied,
            B                  A               E
Joking and talking ... about theee wooorld outside.

      E                        F#m
With hungry hearts through the heat and cold,
              ( A )             B
We never much thought we could get very old;
   E                            A        E
Weeeeee thought we could sit forever in fun,
                 B                A          E
And our chances really ... was a million to one.

(HARMONICA PART)

    E                   F#m
As easy it was to tell black from white,
                ( A )          B
It was all that easy to tell wrong from right;
           E                           A            E
An' our choices they was few, so the thought never hit,
                       B               A                 E
That the one road we traveled ... woul'ever shatter or split.

    E               F#m
Ah many a year has passed and gone,
       ( A )           B
Many' gamble has been lost and won;
     E                    A             E
And many a road taken by many a first friend,
          B            A          E
And each one ... I've never seen again.

    E                     F#m
I wish, I wish, I wish in vain,
                 ( A )            B
That we could sit simply in that room again;
    E                               A          E
Teeeeeeen thousand dollars at the drop of a haaaaaat,
                  B                A                   E
I'd give it all gladly ... if our lives could be like that.
